Business schools encourage variety of opinions and perceptions. If you are an international student like me, remember that you should not only learn from others but also contribute from your own personal experience. Do not try to cover up your cultural background or match it to the common perspective. Instead, share your approach with your peers and be open minded to others. You will find that doing so is very enriching and rewarding.

Here I am few months into my first year, and I have further refined my goals and am starting to pursue a career in entrepreneurship with a focus in biotech. The people that I have met in my class have opened my eyes to a world of possibilities and I am thankful to have met them as they are helping to shape my future.
Business leaders are the people who ultimately decide how workplaces function, in any industry. So if you are passionate about women’s advancement and you want to help more women reach leadership roles, and if you want more flexibility in work-life balance, you need to become the person who has the power to promote employees and define the core values of the company.
You will be presented a lot of opportunities during business school, be sure to stay true to yourself and what you want to accomplish so that you don’t become overwhelmed by the volume of things that you think you should get involved in. The MBA experience is one that is very transformative in many different levels.
Every time I told acquaintances I was moving with my boys to start school in France they gave me a look of utter bafflement. My husband and I made the trek from sunny California with our feisty 9 month old (going on five) and our five year old (always 9 month old puppy) German Shepherd.
Enjoy life as a student. Get down to case competitions. Think outside the box to get connected. Explore and contribute.
I recently wrapped up an amazing summer internship at Paramount Pictures, in Interactive Marketing and Analytics. With two weeks left in between the end of my internship and the start of school, I also just went on a trip to Barcelona, the French Riviera, and Paris with a fellow Marshallite.
So, you’ve conquered the GMAT. Check! Perfected your essays. Check! Submitted the applications and waited anxiously before receiving the incredible news that you’ve been admitted to your number one choice for business school. Congratulations! Now that you’ve celebrated and the excitement has quieted down, I’m sure you’re thinking, “Now what?”
