Pre-MBA Work Experience: Associate Program Officer to Co-chair Melinda Gates, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

I believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every person. This is a core tenet of my faith and my own personal creed. In college, I majored in Women’s Studies because I was passionate about the subject matter. Throughout time, women have been forced to question their own worth and dignity, and I wanted to understand why and what could be done about it.

This passion has brought me to Rotman where I will equip myself with the business skills I need to complement my social sector experience – ultimately leading teams working to improve people’s lives.

Throughout my six years working at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation I saw countless examples of powerful and collectively beneficial partnerships among the private, public, and social sectors. Melinda is an incredible advocate for women and girls around the world and it was a privilege to work with her in support of the foundation’s mission.

I chose to pursue my MBA at Rotman because of the (as yet) unrealized potential I see in building social and sustainable outcomes into companies’ business models.
