Shavonne Gordon
Director at IT Digital Delivery
Shavonne Gordon joined Capital One in 2001 after spending 5 years as a Systems and Database Analyst in manufacturing at DuPont and EDS. She spent five of her ten years at Capital One in the Information Technology department as a Business Systems Analyst, Project Manager, and Technical Lead before moving to Operations. In Operations, Shavonne created and managed a Project Management Office and the daily operations of our Prepaid and Affinities businesses before joining Bank Operations as a Chief of Staff. For the past 2 years, Shavonne has been a program manager for our Digital IT organization, working to deliver critical projects to further Capital One’s Digital agenda.

In 2009, Shavonne was featured in Working Mother magazine where she discussed some of the great benefits Capital One offers to working mothers. For 6 consecutive years, Capital One has been recognized by Working Mother Magazine as one of the “Best 100 Companies for Working Mothers.” Shavonne is an active member of Women’s and African American Networks at Capital One, and is a member of the Steering Committee for the African American Network. She is also a member of the University of Virginia and Howard University campus recruiting teams.

Shavonne is a graduate of the University of Virginia and holds a degree in Systems Engineering. She resides in Glen Allen with her husband John, principal at James Monroe High School in Fredericksburg, VA, and her two girls Kennedy and Simone.

Christina McClung
Director, Card Recruiting at Capital One US and Canada
Christina graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Management. Her concentration was in Human Resources. She also had minors in Communications and Leadership. While at Virginia Tech she served at the Speaker of the House and the Vice-President of the student body. Her biggest accomplishment was founding the Big Event at Virginia Tech, the largest student-run community service day. This event now has over 4,500 volunteers that help the Blacksburg community each year by completing over 800 service projects.

After college, Christina joined Cintas Corporation as the Human Resources Manager for their Richmond location where she decreased turnover and increased hiring. In 2004, Christina joined Northwestern Mutual Financial Network as Director of Recruitment and Selection. Christina was recognized by Northwestern as the #1 recruiter in the country in 2006 and 2007 and her counsel on center of influence development helped launch a consulting business, C-Level Concepts. She consults nationally with other Recruiters and HR professionals on talent acquisition strategies.
